Description:
Wythmoor is directly on the new Walney to Wear, coast to coast Cycle route, 47 miles from the start, and a few hundred metres from the Dales Way long distance footpath. It enjoys great views of the Howgill fells and the distant mountains of the central Lakes. The barn is approximately 4.5 miles from Kendal and less than 10 mins from M6 J37.
Facilities:
It is a newly converted 19C barn with two upstairs sleeping platforms and two bed spaces downstairs. There are two toilets/shower rooms, one is fully disabled accessable. There is a large in door communal cooking area and a separate dining area. Outside is a barbeque area. Hot water is provided free from solar panels, the barn has underfloor heating via a ground source heat pump and the electricity is from a wind turbine.
Directions:
By bike: On Sustrans W2W National Cycle Route 20.
Follow signs from Kendal – approximately 6.5 miles, from Kirkby Stephen approx 26 miles.
On foot. Approximately 200m south of Moresdale Hall on the Dales Way long distance footpath.
By car:
Take Appleby Road (A685) from Kendal.
After approximately 2.5 miles road crosses railway for the second time.
After 400m take turn on RHS signposted ‘Docker’, road becomes single track and crosses railway again.
After 300m opposite Docker Hall farm take left fork signposted Lambrigg.
Follow lane for approx 2 miles ignoring turns on left and right hand until you arrive at the barn on the left, next to the white farmhouse.
